CONCRETE AND TUNNEL FORM CONSTRUCTION
Concrete has been used for thousands of years. Roman built concrete building are still standing today (ie the Coliseum and Pantheon) The Pantheon itself is the Worlds oldest still standing building made of Roman concrete, it is 1898 years young! and although we have forgotten their formula modern Portland cement buildings are designed to last 100’s of years outlasting any other construction method.
Concrete is the material of choice for all infrastructure building worldwide whether it be foundations, roads, bridges, tunnel, rail, sea defences, hydro electric dams commercial and industrial buildings and high rises with in situ or precast elements.
Concrete when externally or internally insulated offers unbeatable thermal mass and provides warm low maintainance homes
Concrete is the proven material for natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods and hurricanes as well as man made disasters such as collisions of vehicles into housings, bullets and to an extent the effects of wars.
If the big bad wolf had issues blowing over straw, wood and bricks houses…he would have never even tried the concrete house.
